Hello all-- Our Northern California efforts began through a collaborative effort between the Center for Independent Living [CIL] (https://www.ilru.org/projects/cil-net/cil-center-and-association-directory), the Area Agency on Aging (https://eldercare.acl.gov/Public/About/Aging_Network/AAA.aspx), the State Council for Developmental Disabilities [SCDD] (https://acl.gov/programs/aging-and-disability-networks/state-councils-developmental-disabilities), and The SCAN Foundation (https://www.thescanfoundation.org/).
Every CIL has a federally mandated core responsibility to actively engage in Systems Change. The MPA focus on improving the systems that serve older adults and individuals with disabilities is a natural fit for this CIL objective. A possible starting place would be by connecting with your local CIL's Systems Change Advocate to determine what organizations and entities are actively involved with the MPA in your region.
I see that you have California contact information, and in this state, an additional excellent way to start engagement is through the California Collaborative for Long Term Services and Supports (https://www.ccltss.org/).
Sure hope this bit of information points you in a helpful starting direction. Always happy to engage conversation -- carolyn@actionctr.org
In service.
