Non-adherence to medications is a key contributor to potentially preventable healthcare use. In older adults, up to 53% of medication-related visits to the emergency department or hospitalization are due to non-adherence. This session shares results from a study examining a dispensing device that provides real-time connectivity with healthcare providers and adherence monitoring through Bluetooth-enabled devices to help keep people safe at home, while in real-time, monitoring their medication administration to ensure those medications are doing what everyone expects.
