On Aging 2021

Starts:  Apr 6, 2021 09:00 (ET)
Ends:  Apr 15, 2021 17:00 (ET)

This year has looked and felt like no other, and our conference will reflect that. We cannot wait to share the thoughtful, dynamic content you have come to rely upon from ASA, along with fun and important opportunities to network, staggered across two weeks in a virtual setting.

We are living and working in uncertain times. Collectively, we are facing systemic challenges brought on by the pandemic, sharpening our focus on disparities that have been growing for decades, and recognizing opportunities to rebuild and redefine how we live. This moment brings enormous opportunities for older adults and for the field of aging. We invite you to America’s largest multidisciplinary conference that this year will focus on how this era has impacted aging.

ASA is guided by five intersecting themes: social justice, health & well-being, economic security, ageism & culture, and innovation & social impact. As we move into 2021, our conference will concentrate on how the issue of equity intertwines with all of these topic areas.

ASA’s annual conference has always been an opportunity to connect and share ideas and resources. Over the past few months, we have learned a great deal about the importance of connecting in new ways. We are drawing from this knowledge to build ways for our community to come together, even in the face of the health risks and economic impacts brought by the pandemic. For the first time, ASA will convene new virtual events in the months leading up to the conference, to generate ideas and discussion that will be carried into conference programming.
