The Blues and Older Minority Musicians: More Than Just Music XXXI

" The Bo Track is Back!" In 1993, Sunnyland Slim sat down at the piano at the ASA Chicago conference, and the first "GeroBlues" music event was born. At ASA's 40th Anniversary, Bo Diddley gave a rousing lecture to a standing-room-only crowd and rocked the dance floor at the Gala. Since then, the " 'Bo Diddley' Track" has logged scores of performers and thousands of gerontology professionals across the country in experiencing the wisdom, insights and resilience of older musicians at a lecture/interview and mini-performance ... and great partying at a local club that evening! Learn from local older blues performers about their history, music, aging with purpose, dignity, optimism and resilience, and the classic American music genre they perform.
