Hi, I’m Margaret McDonald, a professional in my 60s who wants to make it perfectly ordinary to say things like, “I’m a professional in my 60s” — without any awkwardness, cringing or self-conscious quips. I’m also a writer, a learning designer, a late-life career-changer and a recent graduate student.
Much of my working life has been focused on journalism and corporate communications. But iafter learning my graduate certification in Training & Development, I now work as a Learning Designer at Hadley, a non-profit that offers learning opportunities for people who are experiencing vision loss later in life.
And finally, I have a website and blog called Growing And Older, which focuses on where ageism occurs in the everyday world, and the positive aspects of aging.
Overall, I'd like to leverage my communication and teaching skills to disrupt the negative cultural construct of aging and to help people thrive.
